Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Pyle developed an early interest in writing and illustration, which culminated in a celebrated career that would influence generations of artists and writers. He is perhaps best known for his classic collection of Arthurian legends, 'King Arthur of Camelot (10 Books in One Volume)', where he exhibits his flair for melding vivid storytelling with rich, illustrative narratives.
