With environmental, economic and social benefits, greenways play an important role solving to problems of originating from urbanization. Greenway planning process are very complex and comprehensive process. The use of Geographic Information System (GIS) by planners as a tool in this process provides important facilities. The aim of this book was to show the usage of GIS in greenway planning studies.

Pekin Timur received MSc and Ph.D. degrees from the Landscape Architecture Department of Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ankara University. She worked at Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Forestry, Çankiri Karatekin University in Turkey. She published many articles and papers in journals, book's chapters and proceedings.
